In-Class Volunteer Opportunities

HORSE LEADERS

Horse Leaders are responsible for the safety of the horse and control at all times.  While walking with the horse, you’ll maintain distance from other horses in the class while walking, changing directions, and passing.  You don’t interact directly with the rider; that is the Sidewalker’s job.

SIDEWALKERS

Sidewalkers are responsible for the safety of riders. During the class itself, your job is to prevent the rider from falling off the horse. Your instructor will give you directions on how to assist each rider.

WRANGLERS

Wranglers assist with getting the assigned horses for class by prepping tack, helping new volunteers learn how to tack appropriately, and making sure the "Horse Switch" or "Tack Change" between classes runs smoothly.

ARENA ASSISTANTS

Arena Assistants are the extra set of eyes for the instructor.  They may help with grabbing additional equipment, props or other adaptive tack if needed throughout the class.

Non-Class Volunteer Opportunities

SUMMER CAMPS

Each summer we partner with other community organizations for 2-3 weeks of summer camps. Volunteers are needed for leading horses, helping with arts & crafts and other fun activities!
