Meet the Herd
Do you have a horse that would like to join our herd?
Bo
HERCULES

Birthday: January 1, 2006
Program Horse Since: March 2025
Breed: Quarter Horse
Color: Sorrel
Owned By: Belle Rogers, Buckaroo Belle Horsemanship
Bo is the horse that everyone should get to learn from at some point in their early lesson days. While at times he reminds us more of a grandpa pony, he can be quite frisky in turnout and kicks his heels up with plenty of sass. This soft-eyed and sweet-voiced gelding joined our program, and it was as if he had been just waiting for his chance! Bo is easy-going, gentle, slow, and kind. From the parents to participants and with so many more volunteers and our instructors, he is loved by all. Bo came to us having been a lesson horse already which has made him an excellent equine partner here at Free Rein.
HERCULES
HERCULES

Birthday: July 25, 2013
Program Horse Since: September 2024
Breed: Gypsy Vanner
Color: Bay Pinto
Owned By: The Lincoln Family
This bright-eyed gelding is sweet and sensitive! Hercules has a diverse background including already having been an equine partner with us before from the fall of 2021 to the fall of 2022. Between then and now, he went on a life adventure and thrived in the show ring as a gorgeous driving horse! Hercules is attentive and curious which has made him a wonderful horse for our participants learning more independent riding skills. His happy place is in the groundwork classes such as our Military Horsemanship Program and Adaptive Horsemanship. Hercules is a rockstar and is a great horse for everyone to keep learning from, no matter their background or skill level. Thank you to The Lincoln Family for sponsoring Hercules!
STRAWBERRY
STRAWBERRY

Birthday: January 1, 2001
Program Horse Since: September, 2022
Breed: Welsh Pony X Quarter Horse
Color: Sooty Buckskin
Owned By: Maeghan Cordis

The speediest, sassiest, pony-mare around loves to call Free Rein her home and reminds everyone to live in the moment and be their genuine self. Strawberry is quick on her feet and never fails to help you get your steps in. While she can be quite the spitfire - she seems to have found her calling with unmounted work and adores sessions where grooming and quiet concentration are the focus. Her riders fall in love quickly with her spicy personality and she has found a place in the hearts of many staff and volunteers with her refusal to act her age.
